SYNOPSIS
An
Anglican priest holds communion, his smile beams out,
his soft gentle face is loving. He moves the holy bread
forward, as he does a tattoo creeps out from under his
robe.

ALLAN DAVIES is an inspiration to his packed congregation,
to those seeking redemption, to those in despair, to
those needing to be saved from themselves, to all who
want a new chance at life. They flock to listen to his
miracle. . .
Back
in 1968. A Fourteen year old boys jumps from the back
window of an old dilapitated weather board house. Tears
track down his dirty face as he runs through the long
grass, over the fence and into the night. Allan thought
he was escaping his past of violence and abuse, but
this was only the beginning.
As
a street kid in Adelaide, Allan soon learned tough lessons
on how to survive. Lessons that would shape him into
the violent and troubled man he was to become. The betrayal
he suffered as a child continued as he struggled to
survive. His bitterness burgeoned and he soon discovered
violence and crime as the easy answer to his problems.
By seventeen he was doing his second stint at Juvenille
Prison. By twenty Adelaide jail has become his home.
It was here he met JOHNNY, ten years his senior, a hardened
criminal and pathologically violent man. They would
become inseperably bonded as best friends, this bond
was a truly poisonous and destructive one.
At
twenty one, Allan met DEBBIE, an infatuated sixteen
year old girl who would later become his wife. Together
with Johnny the three became fugitives, on the run in
three states. This life continued for three years until
in a fit of rage Allan committed an act of betrayal
for which he could not forgive himself.
Plagued
by this Allan's depression led him on a violent rampage
deeper into the underworld. He was ruthless, feared
by all especially Debbie, by now the mother of his two
children.
Driven by insecurity and distrust Allan possessed and
tormented his wife to the point where she wished him
dead.
But
then it happened.
What
made such a violent desperate man into the loving priest
he is today? And what is it that makes thousands of
people from all over the country flock to hear his story.
